- General arena lighting is a combination of metal-halide and quartz lighting, providing a minimum of 200 foot candles vertical for television broadcasting.
- Instant on/off capabilities with no cool down time and complete blackout capabilities.
- Computer-controlled multi-configuration feature naturally down-sizes any house.
The state-of-the-art special lighting equipment includes:
- Eight X-Spots, mounted on the bottom of the scoreboard
- Four Cyberlight CX Turbos, mounted on the top of the scoreboard
- Eight Cyberlight CL Turbos, mounted in the catwalks
- One 10 watt Argon small-frame water-cooled laser and one 4 watt Krypton small-frame water-cooled laser used for displaying graphics on the floor
- Two 40 watt YAG lasers fed through a fiber optical beam table system used for displaying beam effects in the arena
- Two hazers in the catwalks
- Two foggers in the scoreboard
- The system consists of 24 Speedotron 2400WS power packs and light heads.
- Extensive research and testing has gone into the system's design to assure that this is the best system in the country.
- There are four sets of six lights each, giving end-to-end coverage for all events.
- The strobe lights are hard wired to the arena floor and have been fitted with low voltage " sync" triggers to protect the cameras.
- United Center has 12 permanent spotlight platforms located throughout the arena at catwalk truss level, 108' above the floor.
- United Center owns four Xenon Gladiator III 3,000 watt and six Super Trooper 2K 2,500 watt spotlights.
- Spotlight platforms are hard wired for electrical power and intercom system connecting to sound/light mixer locales, backstage and houselights.
- Clear-com system accommodates up to 16 stations with belt packs and double muff sets.
- Safety lanyards required at all times.
- Ten 8' wide × 8' deep and one 20' wide × 8' deep areas are available and hardwired to accommodate TV cameras.
