Confetti was dispersed manually by a member of the local stagehands union from inside the Scoreboard over the court as the Bulls won the 1997 NBA Championship.  The man entered the bowl area via the catwalk and then shimmied down the scoreboard cables and climbed inside.  From there he shoveled confetti out of garbage bags down onto the court.
