We will only be distributing mobile tickets this season – paper tickets will not be distributed. All mobile tickets must be displayed on a smartphone for entry and will feature a rotating barcode. As a result, screenshots or printouts will not work for entry into the arena this year.
NO BAG POLICY
In accordance with new arena health and safety protocols, no bags are allowed inside the arena, including purses, small clutches and handheld wallets. Very limited exceptions will be made for medically required bags and diaper bags (no larger than 14x14x6) when an infant is present. AT THE UNITED CENTER
MANDATORY MASK POLICY
All guests entering the United Center over the age of two are required to wear a face mask that completely covers their nose and mouth.
- Face masks are required to be worn at all times while inside the arena except when actively eating or drinking.
- Permitted face masks: Surgical masks, medical-grade masks, or multi-layer cloth masks.
- Not Permitted face masks: Single layer cloth masks, neck gaiters, bandanas and masks with valves or vents.
Standard physical distancing practices will be enforced upon entering and throughout the arena.
- Seat locations will be arranged to promote physical distancing.
- Dedicated entrances and exits based on ticket location to streamline entry and exit.
- Refrain from gathering in groups in concourses and lounge areas.
ENHANCED ARENA CLEANING
All cleaning and disinfecting COVID-19 protocols are in accordance with all league, CDC, city and state guidelines.
- Specialized disinfecting equipment, including Clorox® Total 360® System electrostatic sprayers
- Increased frequency of cleaning
- Hand sanitation stations
- All dining and hospitality spaces will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before, during, and after events
MODIFIED EVENT DAY EXPERIENCE
Upon reopening the arena in a limited capacity, some guest experiences including concessions, dining, and retail offerings and entertainment experiences may be modified or unavailable.
Cashless Transactions: The United Center will be a cashless arena for the remainder of the 2020-21 season to encourage contactless payment for food and beverage or retail purchases.
Fans who are holding cash and do not have credit or debit cards can purchase United Center gift cards at select retail locations in their designated fan area.
Reduced Contact Concessions:
- Mobile ordering and modified menus available
- Suspended beer vending in arena bowl
- Packaged utensils and condiments will be available across concessions
- Active eating and drinking allowed in seat or designated dining areas only
Arena Health & Safety Compliance

PRE-ARRIVAL COVID-19 HEALTH SCREENING REQUIREMENTS
What are the health screening and/or testing requirements for attending a game?
The United Center has partnered with Health Pass by CLEAR to help you enter the arena and confirm your health screening requirements before the game. You will be required to complete a mandatory pre-arrival health survey on gamedays. Learn more about Health Pass by CLEAR here.
We are not requiring COVID-19 tests for entry into the United Center this season – however, all fans must adhere to the City of Chicago’s emergency travel order to be eligible for in-person attendance.
Do children under 18 also need to complete a CLEAR health screening before attending?
To complete the health screening requirement, children under the age of 18 should be added as a ‘minor’ to the attending adult’s CLEAR profile. Will my temperature be taken upon arrival?
No, we are not requiring an on-site temperature check for entry into the United Center this season. However, you will be required to complete a mandatory pre-arrival health survey through Health Pass by CLEAR. Learn more about Health Pass by CLEAR here.
Any fan who, within 14 days prior to an event (1) tested positive or presumptively positive for COVID-19; (2) experienced any symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19; and/or (3) was in direct contact with or the immediate vicinity of any person who is either confirmed or suspected of being infected with COVID-19 should not attend an event at the United Center.
If I have already received the COVID-19 vaccine, do I still need to complete the pre-arrival health screening?
Yes, you will still be required to complete the mandatory pre-arrival health survey on event days. Learn more about Health Pass by CLEAR here. Fans who are vaccinated will still be required to wear a mask while at the United Center and to comply with all other protocols and policies within the arena.
What does the health screening process look like when I arrive?
You will complete your Health Pass by CLEAR survey before arriving to the United Center on gameday (no earlier than 12 hours prior to tip off) to confirm your health screening requirements. You should have the completed bar code screen pulled up on your phone and ready to show security upon entering the United Center.

What health and safety protocols are in place at the United Center?
As part of the United Center’s reopening to fans, the arena and teams are implementing increased health and safety protocols at every step of the fan’s journey on gameday in accordance with all NBA, NHL, Centers for Disease Control, and state and city guidelines. Some of those new protocols include a mandatory pre-arrival health screening via Health Pass by CLEAR, no-bag policy, mask policy and more. Further details can be found within this hub.
Upon request, the arena will provide ticketholder information to city and state health officials and the last known ticketholder will likely be contacted as part of the government official contact tracing process.

How will I enter and exit the United Center?
To streamline the entry and exit process, each ticketholder will receive a dedicated gate for entry and exit. You will not be permitted to use any other gates to access the arena. Your designated gate information will be listed on your purchased ticket.
Is parking still available at the United Center?
Yes, parking is still available at the United Center. When you purchase a ticket, you will receive suggested parking lots closest to your designated gate for entry into the arena. Though payment onsite will be accepted, pre-purchasing parking online is the recommended method.
EVENT EXPERIENCE & IN-ARENA AMENITIES
How will arena amenities and the entertainment experience be impacted this season?
Upon reopening the arena in a limited capacity, some guest experiences including concessions, dining, retail offerings and entertainment experiences may be modified or unavailable. Based on ticketed areas and designated gates for entry into the arena, the Atrium, including the Michael Jordan statue, will not be accessible for all fans this season.
What are the new food & beverage policies?
At the arena, we will offer mobile ordering and pickup for concessions and all food and beverage purchased will be served in closed containers. To put in your order mobile order, CLICK HERE.
Additionally, beer vending in the arena bowl will be suspended, and physically distant queues and designated dining areas will encourage social distancing measures. Fans can utilize contactless or cashless payment options for food and beverage or retail purchases within their designated areas within the arena.
As the arena will be split into dedicated paths of travel based on ticket location, concession offerings will be limited and specialized offerings including Chicago’s Plate stands and other on-site restaurants will not be open.
Can I take my mask off while I eat and drink during the game?
Permitted masks must be worn at all times while inside the arena except when actively eating or drinking. Fans are only permitted to eat in designated dining areas on the concourse or in their seats.
What type of payment will be accepted throughout the arena for F&B, retail etc.?
Fans can utilize preferred contactless or cashless payment options for food and beverage or retail purchases throughout the arena.
Will all arena restrooms be open?
Yes. United Center staff will be onsite to assist with any questions and help direct you to the nearest restrooms dedicated to your area.
Will I be able to purchase merchandise at the United Center?
Yes, there will be limited retail locations open throughout the arena with limited product offerings. Cash will not be accepted at these locations and returns/exchanges will not be permitted.
The Madhouse Team Store in the Atrium will remain closed for the remainder of the season. However, the Madhouse Team Store will continue to accept orders via an online form or by phone. Fans can visit madhouseteamstore.com or call 312-455-4600 to fill out an order form.
