Joining Keys on tour is rising R&B star Miguel who was recently nominated for five Grammy® Awards including Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance and Best Urban Contemporary Album for KALEIDOSCOPE DREAM (ByStorm/RCA). Miguel's ubiquitous Grammy® nominated single, "Adorn," which retained the #1 spot for 11 weeks at Urban Mainstream and 10 weeks and counting at Urban Adult Contemporary, recently reached #1 at Rhythmic radio.
GIRL ON FIRE (RCA Records) debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200, #1 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and #1 on the Top Digital albums chart. In addition to being the best-selling R&B album in the U.S, GIRL ON FIRE reached #1 on the iTunes album chart in 19 countries. The album also made its way back into the top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 this week charting at #9. The album's first single and title track, "Girl On Fire," is rapidly ascending the top 40 radio airwaves. It has also sold over 1.5 million in track downloads. Keys recently debuted her second single from the new album, the empowering "Brand New Me," which is currently rising up the Urban Charts.
Since the album's debut, Keys has made a number of high-profile appearances including a stunning performance "lighting up" the Empire State Building's iconic skyline as well as a truly moving performance at the 12.12.12 Concert for Sandy Relief. Keys has also appeared on Katie Couric, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Letterman, The View, Person to Person, Good Morning America, Nightline, The X-Factor as well as a recent performance on The People's Choice Awards.
"I can feel the energy of this upcoming year building and I couldn't be more excited to go on tour with the new album and I'm thrilled to have the insanely talented Miguel join me," said Alicia Keys. "'Girl On Fire' has been such an empowering and freeing experience for me as an artist. I can't wait to discover how the new and familiar faces I see on tour embrace the music and the journey I've taken."
"This tour is definitely going to be on fire! I love Alicia because whether it's 5 or 500,000 people she's performing for, she exudes this hypnotic honesty and a transparent artistry," says Miguel. "I think that's what this tour will be remembered for the most."
GIRL ON FIRE speaks to a new era in Keys' personal and professional life, and opens a door into the multi-platinum selling artist's evolution. The album features powerful anthems and intimate ballads, led by Keys' signature soulful voice, with personable and relatable lyrics. Keys collaborated with acclaimed and emerging talent, including longtime song writing partner, Krucial, Grammy® Award-winners Babyface, Maxwell and Bruno Mars, renowned writer and vocalist Jeff Bhasker, critically-acclaimed artists Gary Clarke Jr., and Frank Ocean, as well as emerging talent from the U.K., Emeli Sandé and Jamie XX. The album is colored richly by Keys' travels including time spent in London and Jamaica, as well as the city where she was born and raised and continues to call home, New York City.
