Assistant Housekeeping Manager

The United Center seeks well-organized individual to be Assistant Housekeeping Manager. Qualified candidate will be responsible for managing various aspects of the Housekeeping Department for the United Center Arena, United Center Office Building and Atrium, and the Advocate Center while maintaining high levels and standards of cleanliness and safety. Must be able to work flexible shifts per business needs. Bilingual a plus. Competitive salary and benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Directly supervise office crew, detail crew, utility crew, as well as contract services
  • Fill in for Housekeeping Manager during day shift/night shift, as needed
  • Assisting with scheduling and orienting all crew members to the department
  • Oversee quality control of housekeeping operations during event and post event clean up in the Arena seating, concourses, suites, locker rooms, dock, and other areas inside and outside facility
  • Assist with conversions for Bulls, and Blackhawks – load-ins and load-out for concerts and special events
  • Oversee events/meetings with housekeeping needs at all locations: United Center, United Center Atrium, Advocate, and Blackhawks training facility

Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and at least three (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to operate specific equipment or tools
  • Must have the ability to work with various in-house computer programs
  • Must have excellent knowledge of floor and carpet care maintenance and working knowledge of related machinery.

Human Resources Assistant

The United Center seeks a well-organized individual to be Human Resources Assistant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to coordinating the new hire process for new employees, assist new hires with the completion of pre-employment paperwork, maintaining personnel files, W-4 Forms, I-9 Forms, working closely with payroll, processing and filing all general and post-event paperwork, ensuring legal postings are displayed and up to date, assisting with special events and/or projects, and providing clerical support to Senior Directors of AYS and other Human Resources personnel as necessary and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly motivated, have good communication and interpersonal skills, and has the ability to work well in a team environment.  Ability to work with various computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.  Experience with Ultipro and scheduling programs a plus.  Must be able to handle multiple projects in a timely and efficient manner.  A Bachelor’s degree is required.  We offer an excellent salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience.

Network Engineer

The United Center, a premiere sports and entertainment complex and home of the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago Blackhawks, seeks a Network Engineer to provide direction and oversite of its expanding network infrastructure. You’ll be working with diverse technologies ranging from wireless through campus wide VOIP and Multicast. You’ll have an opportunity to design and manage network installation for several new campus facilities. You will need a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field, or at least 4 years of experience with large network environments including WAN/LAN and WIFI systems. Knowledge of 802.1x authentication, QoS, VOIP and Multicast technologies are required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of all network related technology.
  • Maintain appropriate network security, access and management technologies, including but not limited to; 802.1x, Radius, PCI compliancy and centralized monitoring.
  • Develop and recommend solutions to enhance system stability and performance.
  • Function as a liaison between vendors, consultants, business partners, team members and employees.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in computer science, information technology or related field.
  • 4 years of experience with large network environments including WAN/LAN and WIFI systems.
  • Ability to analyze network performance data to identify trends and potential problems, and make recommendations to modify and/or upgrade network equipment or services.
  • Experience with QoS, VOIP and multicast technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Security Manager

The United Center seeks a well-organized individual to be Security Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to hiring, supervising, training and scheduling security personnel, submitting payroll, assisting with the creation, implementation and monitoring of department policies and procedures, monitoring the maintenance of all CCTV and command center equipment, alarm systems and vehicles, and evaluating and anticipating security needs to ensure maximum facility security at all times.  

The ideal candidate must be available 24 hours a day and should be able to work a varied schedule which include evenings, weekends and holidays.  Candidate should have good communication and interpersonal skills, excellent leadership ability, and excellent analytical skills. A Bachelor’s degree is required and a Criminal Justice studies background is preferred. We offer an excellent salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience.
