The United Center, the premiere sports and entertainment facility and home of the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Bulls, is currently hiring for the following positions:

Building Security

This position is for 2nd and 3rd shift respectively. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with staff scheduling, assisting with the creation, implementation and monitoring of department policies and procedures, evaluating and anticipating security needs to ensure maximum security at all times, enforcing compliance with building security procedures, inspecting and screening employees, contractor, media bags, and handling guest complaint resolution.

The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, leadership ability and good interpersonal skills. Security experience, a PERC card, and criminal justice background is a plus. Must have weekend and holiday availability and a valid driver’s license.

Digital Signage Designer

The United Center seeks a motivated individual to be the Digital Signage Designer. Responsibilities include but are not limited to designing and creating motion graphics displayed on our various sizes video displays from concept to completion. The main responsibility will be to manage, schedule, coordinate and create graphics for our outdoor and indoor digital displays. These include sponsor animations, logo treatments, opens, headshots, etc. Extensive knowledge in After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator is mandatory. Additional experience in non-linear editing, 3d software and workflow in a digital environment is advantageous.

College degree preferred and 2-3 years of experience are necessary. Flexible schedule is a must. We offer competitive salary and benefits.

Event Manager

The United Center seeks a motivated individual to be the Event Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing building and show history as it relates to concerts; compiling and distributing information concerning event requirements, preparing event cost estimates, assisting with budget preparation, producing in-house event synopsis, and organizing and maintaining the building’s master calendar relating to events.  Candidate will also be responsible for providing event coordination/pre-event planning and will also work closely with the building’s executives on specific show details, along with acting as manager on duty for specified events. 

Event operations experience and a flexible schedule a must.  Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 to 5 years of experience in Event Management are necessary. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits. 

Network Engineer

The United Center seeks a Network Engineer to provide direction and oversite of its expanding network infrastructure. You’ll be working with diverse technologies ranging from High-Density wireless through campus wide VOIP and Multicast. You’ll have an opportunity to design and manage network installation for several new campus facilities. You will need a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field, or at least 7 years of experience with large network environments including WAN/LAN and WIFI systems. Knowledge of 802.1x authentication, QoS, VOIP and Multicast technologies are required. RF spectral analysis and troubleshooting skills a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of all network related technology.
  • Maintain appropriate network security, access and management technologies, including but not limited to; 802.1x, Radius, PCI compliancy and centralized monitoring.
  • Develop and recommend solutions to enhance system stability and performance.
  • Function as a liaison between vendors, consultants, business partners, team members and employees.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in computer science, information technology or related field.
  • 4 years of experience with large network environments including WAN/LAN and WIFI systems.
  • Ability to analyze network performance data to identify trends and potential problems, and make recommendations to modify and/or upgrade network equipment or services.
  • Experience with QoS, VOIP and multicast technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
