Erykah Badu and Nas have teamed together for a high energy show. This concert will include some of their chart topping hits like "On & On", "Bag Lady", ”Honey”, “Window Seat” and “Back in the Day (Puff)” from Dave Chappelle’s Block Party [Erykah Badu] as well as "The World Is Yours", "If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)", "Street Dreams", "One Mic", “Nastradamus” and “Made You Look” [Nas]. These timeless tracks continue to paint the soundtrack of Millions of lives around the globe.
Erykah Badu Born in Dallas, Texas, Erykah Badu was exposed to the arts early on, and eventually began to perform in shows at the local Dallas Theater Center. In 1996, Badu's demo caught the attention of music producer Kedar Massenburg, who signed her and paired her with D'Angelo to record the song "Your Precious Love." Kedar Entertainment later merged with Universal Motown. Today, Badu is best known for her soulful music style, which is showcased on albums such as the Grammy Award-winning Baduizm and 1997's Live. Although she disputes the term, Erykah Badu has been dubbed "the first lady of neo soul" and "the queen of neo-soul".Baduizm's commercial and critical success earned Erykah Badu popularity at the time and helped establish her as one of the emerging neo soul genre's leading artists. Along with D'Angelo's Brown Sugar (1995) and Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite (1996), the album has been recognized by music writers for beginning neo soul's popularity and helping the genre obtain commercial visibility at the time.
In 1997, Badu received six nominations and won three. In 1998, Badu received fourteen nominations and won eight, In 2000, Badu received two nominations and won one, Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group at the Grammy Awards. In 2003, Badu received twelve nominations and won two., including Video of the Year for "Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip-Hop)" at the BET Awards and Best Urban/Alternative Performance for "Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip-Hop)" at the Grammy Awards. In 2008, Badu received eleven nominations and won two, including Best Director for "Honey" at the BET Awards and Best Direction in a Video for "Honey" at the MTV Video Music Awards. Overall, Badu has won 16 awards from 59 nominations. Nas Hailing from Queensbridge, New York, The son of jazz musician Olu Dara.
Nas made a huge impact in the early 1990s with Illmatic, widely regarded as one of the greatest rap albums of all time. While he has arguably never hit such heights again, he has nevertheless sold 30 million records, received worldwide critical acclaim. He is also an entrepreneur through his own record label; he serves as associate publisher of Mass Appeal magazine and the cofounder of Mass Appeal Records. Nas has been praised for his ability to create a "devastating match between lyrics and production" by journalist Peter Shapiro, as well as creating a "potent evocation of life on the street", and he has even been compared to Rakim for his lyrical technique.
In 2006, Nas was ranked fifth on MTV's "10 Greatest MCs of All Time" list. In 2012, The Source ranked him No. 2 on their list of the Top 50 Lyricists of All Time.In 2013, Nas was ranked fourth on MTV's "Hottest MCs in the Game" list. His debut Illmatic is widely considered among the greatest hip hop albums of all time.
