Building Security

The United Center seeks a self-motivated individual to be a Building Security Officer for our 2nd shift (4:00pm – 12:am).   
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
Ensuring a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment for all United Center Team Members and guests by monitoring assigned areas.
 
Specific Duties:  (Other duties may be assigned.)
  • Create a safe and secure environment for guest and employees.
  • Monitor CCTV, door alarms, alarm systems
  • Report unsafe and unpresentable circumstances within the work area.
  • Have superior knowledge of facility services and physical layout.
  • Promotional Item Distribution
  • Guest complaint resolution.
  • Incident report documentation.
  • Facility policy enforcement      
  • Customer service skills
  • Inspect and screen employees, contractors, media bags, etc., using hand held and walk through magnetometers
  • Standing at post, walking through the facility, and lifting items

Building Security Shift Supervisor - 3rd Shift

The United Center seeks a well-organized individual to be Building Security Shift Supervisor.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise other security employees
  • Enforce compliance with building security procedures
  • Monitor alarms and security cameras

The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, leadership ability and good interpersonal skills. Three to five years of security experience and/or supervisory experience is a plus. Candidate should have a criminal justice background, a valid driver’s license, and a PERC card. Position is full-time plus benefits.   

Controller

The Controller will be responsible for leading the accounting, budgeting and financial reporting function.  This position will report to the Senior Director of Finance & Accounting and will be responsible for supervising two to three staff members.  This is a full-time, salaried (exempt) position with the organization.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (advanced degree or certification, such as CPA or CMA, is preferable).
  • 7 to 12 years of accounting-related experience, preferably a combination of public accounting and private industry experience, demonstrating a progression of increasing responsibility. Desired experience includes middle-market growing businesses, particularly in the consumer business, sports, entertainment, hospitality, and/or media industries.
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written), managerial, organizational and interpersonal skills are a key requirement.
  • Adept at balancing several contending priorities, including the ability to quickly prioritize and meet a variety of deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze a high volume of data and financial information, identify trends and opportunities, and effectively communicate interpretations and recommendations.
  • Technologically-savvy, with very strong Microsoft Office skills and experience, particularly in Excel and Word.
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information is required.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Guide and supervise financial decisions by implementing and monitoring the accounting, budgeting, forecasting and expenditure policies and procedures.
  • Directly review check and credit card expenditures and employee expense reporting for accuracy and appropriateness prior to issuance, primarily by leading the organization’s usage of automated invoice routing processing via our Docupeak platform. 
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of monthly account reconciliations and financial activity, including cash, receivable billings and collections, property, and prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities.
  • Review payroll and compensation information on a periodic basis for accuracy, and provide analysis as needed related to compensation and benefits-related matters.
  • Lead the preparation of the annual operating budget and maintain ongoing analysis of budget variances and financial forecasting, including timely communication to those with budget responsibility each month.
  • Lead the timely and accurate preparation of internal and external financial reporting, including monthly internal financial reporting and periodic external reporting for GAAP and NBA/NHL league purposes. 
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and other vendors for recurring GAAP and NBA/NHL audits.
  • Perform additional reporting to the NBA/NHL related to multi-year financial forecasting and various other financial matters communicated to the leagues throughout each season.
  • Supervise and direct all reporting to taxing authorities, including partnership income, payroll, amusement, sales & use, and other taxes applicable to the operations of the arena, ensuring compliance with all filing and payment requirements.Prepare and perform event settlements for events at United Center.

 

Premium Sales Account Executive

Premium Sales Account Executives are responsible for selling an array of United Center premium ticket-related products, that include the Chicago Bulls, Chicago Blackhawks and Concerts/Special Events. Heavy emphasis will be placed on new business development through both virtual and face-to-face meetings at the United Center and out of office. Ideal candidate must be detail oriented and organized with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of clientele, be well-versed in prospecting, appointment setting and executing sales presentations.  Candidate should also have the ability to function in a fast-paced environment; possess a positive attitude, self-confidence, enthusiasm, professionalism, and a very strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for, but not limited to, the sale of season suite licenses and club spaces for Bulls, Blackhawks and Concerts/Special Events.
  • Meet and exceed established weekly, monthly and annual sales goals.
  • Build new relationships through self-prospecting, cold calling and effective campaign management.
  • Generate virtual, out of office and United Center “face-to-face” meetings to create new opportunities with top area businesses and B2C sales campaign leads.
  • Entertain and nurture relationships with prospects through creative means, including but not limited to: one-on-one meals, prospect sampling at games, seat visits at games and outside meetings.
  • The candidate will be accountable for weekly and monthly KPI’s (calls, touchpoints and appointments).

  • Continually create and implement unique sales strategies, ideas and programs as a means of producing new business opportunities.

Premium Account Service Executive

We are looking to maximize satisfaction and retention among our Premium Seating Members and are seeking an individual with skills garnered from a customer service and/or hospitality background; someone who is looking to broaden their skills in a fast-paced environment.

Job duties include but are not limited to: making quality contacts with Premium Seating Members to say thank you, offer VIP experiences, collect personal data, provide education about our services and benefits and answer their questions; during Bulls and Blackhawks games as well as United Center special events to make in-seat visits with Members and deliver VIP experiences and gifts; work proactively to develop new programs, benefits and strategies to better serve our Members and increase retention; manage Member birthday emails and coordinate department scoreboard messaging; update and maintain all data, including personal information about each of our Members. 

 

Candidate should possess general Microsoft skills.  Familiarity with Ticketmaster’s Archtics and Kore is a plus.  You should also possess a positive attitude, self-confidence, professionalism, great communication skills, and have a very strong work ethic. Candidate must also be available to work on some event nights, including weekends and holidays, to assist in smooth operations and excellent service for all Premium Seating Members. 

 

Premium Seating CRM Coordinator

The United Center’s Premium Seating Department is looking to add a CRM Coordinator to their team. The Premium Seating Department is responsible for the sales and service of three levels of Executive Suites, the all-inclusive BMO Club and all-inclusive Budweiser Champions Club Theater Boxes. The CRM Coordinator will report to the Director of Premium Seating and be responsible for the day-to-day management of our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and will be responsible for improving how our department collects, stores, and visualizes data.

This position will import and/or automate the entry of customer data into the CRM database from a variety of sources including online forms, Ticketmaster sales, data appends and surveys; monitor data health and quality across all databases and lead key integrations to ensure accuracy and usability of data.  The CRM Coordinator will also assist with lead generation and acquisition and efficiently route prospecting leads to sales staff. This position will improve automation and integrations between systems to simplify manual processes; create and develop reports and dashboards for data visualizations to support the day-to day needs of the sales & service staffs. They will also design, build, and drive campaigns to better engage with our lead database and improve engagement.

We are looking for someone who is inherently passionate, driven and results oriented. They should be comfortable balancing multiple projects and be an excellent communicator both written and verbally. Candidate should have experience with CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) and Marketing Automation systems. Exceptional Microsoft Excel and Power Point skills. Experience building dashboards and reports in a visualization tool such as Tableau or PowerBI. Proficiency in SQL is preferred.

 

Premium Seating Supervisor

The Premium Seating Supervisor is primarily responsible for providing excellent service to all Premium Seating guests at most United Center events and for managing approximately forty At Your Service (AYS) team members. 
 
Successful candidate will resolve ticket issues; anticipate, identify and solve problems and concerns of guests; serve as the escalation contact for guest complaints and issues; and provide guests with recovery services as needed. 
 
This position will actively monitor team member interactions with United Center guests to ensure a high level of satisfaction and service. They will support ongoing leadership, training and accountability as well as inform the Guest Services Manager of any recommended and appropriate disciplinary documents as needed. 
 
Excellent supervision and interpersonal skills are essential to this position. We are looking for someone with high energy who is very professional, well-polished and has excellent communication skills to interact regularly with executive clients. Candidate should possess general Microsoft skills. Candidate must also be available to work scheduled event nights, including weekends and holidays, to assist in smooth operations and excellent service for all Premium Seating Members.  
 

 

Manager, Premium Sales

The Premium Sales Manager will have a wide range of responsibilities to help the United Center Premium Department function at its highest level. The Premium Sales Manager will be responsible primarily for the growth of our season suite licenses and premium club sales through direct selling plus leadership of our sales team. Premium inventory incorporates Chicago Bulls, Chicago Blackhawks and United Center Concerts/Special Events. Heavy emphasis will be placed on the implementation and execution of effective sales processes, and the professional development of the Premium Sales team. 
 
Ideal candidate must possess 4-6 years of sales experience, strong business sales acumen and leadership abilities to ensure that departmental and organizational goals are met.. Candidate should also have the ability to function in a fast-paced environment; have a passion to coach and develop sales professionals, possess a positive attitude, self-confidence, enthusiasm, professionalism, and a very strong work ethic.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and providing leadership for Premium Sales Executives.
  • The management and performance of the Premium Sales team, who are responsible for driving sales of selling our full menu of all premium products. 
  • Supporting Premium Sales staff by evaluating sales calls and attending out of office, virtual and arena appointments.
  • Executing one-on-ones with sales executives to reinforce sales processes and provide continual feedback.
  • Achieving personal annual sales revenue goals.
  • Generating out of office, virtual and United Center appointments to establish new opportunities with top area businesses.
  • Assisting in establishing KPI’s and benchmarks for all Premium Sales Executives.
  • Developing recommendations for new (or enhancement of) premium product offerings, budget utilization and sales strategies for the premium department.
  • Collaborating with leadership team to develop and efficiently maintain all sales campaigns and lead distribution in CRM.
  • Assisting in identifying and implementing new technology platforms to help efficiently cultivate and nurture new business clientele.
  • Assisting in the development of premium amenities and responsible for knowledge of all aspects of all ticket products.
  • Assisting in creating new sales packages, opportunities for new sales, and internal sales contests/initiatives.

The ideal candidate must also have the ability to work some event nights, including weekends and holidays, to assist in smooth operations and excellent service for all Premium Seating Members. 

Senior Manager of Human Resources

Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting employee population of 800 employees.  
  • Driving many aspects of the Talent Management processes such as overseeing and communicating discipline to staff and coaching managers.
  • Utilizing in-depth knowledge and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy.
  • Conducting investigations (i.e., sexual harassment, disciplinary actions, etc.) ensuring full compliance with company policies and applicable laws. 
  • Responding to employee questions and complaints regarding a wide variety of issues (FMLA, work schedules, transfers, promotions, benefits, safety, unfair treatment, performance, personal issues, pay, and company policies).
  • Working with HR team to oversee benefit programs, enrollments and review regularly to recommend benefit plan improvements and recruiting functions – onboarding new staff and indoctrinating them into company culture.
  • Spearheading the HR Analytics efforts for the department.
  • Driving HR Recruiting metrics and programs including; Talent Acquisition relationship, recruiting strategies, new employee onboarding, other compliance reporting, finding innovative solutions to talent shortages. 
  • Handling compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters, conducting conflict resolution investigations and disciplinary matters, and assisting managers in enforcing policies in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Assisting in developing training programs and mentoring employees to improve skills, also conducting needs assessment with managers as appropriate.
  • Administering various recognition programs and planning small events as needed.
Excellent time management, organizational and record-keeping skills are a must. Strong ability to build trust among employee groups throughout all levels.  Extreme confidentiality and professionalism a must. Must have extensive knowledge of employee benefits administration, employment laws, strong strategic and critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead and motivate.
 
Bachelor’s Degree and 7-10 years of related experience and a proven track record of success. Current SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification or ability to obtain certification.  Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical skills are needed to be successful in this position.
